Classes & Workshops

Here at Metta Integrative Wellness, we offer a range of classes and workshops hosted by coop owners, and in partnership with local movement instructors.

We host our small-group (5 people or less) in our Hampden, Baltimore location, and larger classes and workshops in partnership with other spaces.

Yoga with a Hypermobile Body

This weekly, small group, yoga class is led by Lo Smith, a hypermobile yoga teacher and self-described “weird and dangerous sports only” athlete with a background in acrobatics, aerial arts, and roller derby. They developed their unique style of teaching yoga with a hypermobile body during their 200hr Yoga Teacher Training with the Maryland Yoga Collective in 2023.

This method focuses on building strength and stability through traditional asana, finding modifications for poses and transitions that may be tricky for someone with hypermobility. Their technique also aims to include yogis experiencing the hypermobile constellation, making the class more accessible to community members experiencing hypermobility co-morbidities.

This class is not recommended for those experiencing Post-Exertion Malaise (PEM) or extreme orthostatic dysfunction. Curious potential students are encouraged to talk to their healthcare teams before engaging in a new movement modality.

Being in your yoga classes is the first time I’ve felt safe enough to not question if I’m ‘good’ or ‘bad’ at yoga, but has helped me worry less and love my quirky body more.
